A headlamp includes a light source 12, a reflector 14, and a distribution changing member, which is preferably movable, above the source 12 and in front of the reflector 14. The distribution changing member may be a screen 16 that shades selected parts of the reflector, or may be a cover 32 which can open and close a hole 30 in the reflector 14, or the light source 12 itself may be movable. The reflector 14 preferably has regions 15 designed to illuminate the road in such a way as to highlight the lane markings. The distribution changing member preferably switches between illuminating the road markings B, F and illuminating a wider area A. |
