A method of providing financial transactions via a self-service terminal 14 which comprises the steps of: maintaining a financial account for an organisation 18, providing a self-service terminal 14 in premises used by the organisation 18, maintaining a financial account for an individual 36 under the supervision of the organisation 18, allowing a sponsor and/or the organisation 18 to establish rules governing use of the financial account by the individual 36, and only fulfilling a transaction requested by the individual 36 at the terminal 14 if the transaction is consistent with the established rules for that individual 36. In an alternative embodiment the invention comprises a self-service terminal 14 which is associated with an organisation 18 having individuals 36 under its supervision, each individual 36 having a sponsor, whereby the terminal 14 provides the individuals 36 with access to financial services with rules established by the sponsor and organisation 18. In another embodiment the invention comprises a financial transaction system 10 comprising a self-service terminal 14 in communication with a transaction host 12. In a further embodiment the invention comprises a method of administrating financial accounts for individuals 36 under the supervision of an organisation 18. The organisation 18 is provided with a fee associated with purchases made using the account. The organisation 18 may be a school. The self-service terminal 14 may be an ATM which can transfer music in MP3 format on to a blank compact disk (CD).
