In a process for increasing the hydrophobicity of microfibers in a fleece containing polyolefin, polyester or polyamide microfibers with an average diameter of 1-10 mu m, which contain 0.5-10 wt.% firmly embedded filler particles to impart hydrophobicity, the novelty is that the microfibers are produced with an average diameter at most 1.0 times that of the filler particles. |
