A method for the production of a prestressed pipeline section (7) made of plastic, comprising the following steps: the provision of a first plastic pipe section (2), the provision of a second plastic pipe section (3) having an internal diameter that is smaller that the external diameter of the first pipe section (2), modifying the cross-sectional dimensions of at least one end (5) of a first of the pipe sections such that the end (5) of the second pipe section (3) can be fitted over the end (6) of the first pipe section (2), pushing the pipe sections (2,3) onto one another in such a way that compressive stresses are generated in the first (inner) pipe section (2) and tensile stresses are generated in the second (outer) pipe section (3). |
