PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing dry organic carboxylic acid powder of industrially favorable particle shape with improved drying efficiency. SOLUTION: This method for producing organic carboxylic acid powder by the use of a horizontal dryer of indirectly heating type at least having a charge port for wet organic carboxylic acid powder, a discharge port for dry organic carboxylic acid powder and an agitating means rotating axially and fluidizing the wet organic carboxylic acid powder, is characterized in that the gap between the tip of the agitating means and the inner wall of the dryer is 1-5 mm.
