SOLUTION: In obtaining a polymer by subjecting a water-soluble radically polymerizable monomer to a radical polymerization in the presence of water, the polymerization is carried out in the presence of a radically copolymerizable compound containing a specific diallyl group and a vinyl group in the same molecule.
