PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remotely operated traveling toy having a traveling vehicle capable of rapidly changing its direction substantially orthogonal to the traveling direction. SOLUTION: This traveling toy comprises a pair of wheel sets in which both front wheels 5 and rear wheels 6 having a steering mechanism 8 for steering the traveling vehicle 1 in the right-and-left direction on one side across a vehicle body 2 are combined with each other, and the width between the rear wheels 6 is set so as to project the wheels 6 from side surfaces in the width direction of the front wheels 5 to form one independent wheel set 7, a support part 40 for tiltably supporting each wheel set 7, in relation to the vehicle body 2, to both sides in the vehicle width direction while the front wheels 5 and the rear wheels 6 are changed from the longitudinal attitude to the transverse attitude, and a tilting mechanism 45 for collapsing the pair of wheel sets inwardly in the turning direction following the instruction of changing the direction from a controller 70. This configuration enables the steering from the direction change corresponding to a small steering angle to the direction change corresponding to a large steering angle based on the collapsing degree of the front wheels 5 and the rear wheels 6.
