The method for constructing a glasshouse involves a building site provided with fixture points for positioning uprights and a transporter conveying at a distance from the ground of uprights (2), joists (3) and gutters (4) to their appointed installation locations. The uprights (9) are placed by the transporter directly onto the fixture points and the joists (10) and gutters (11) are directly fixed to the uprights. The transport (5) comprises a support plate (6), a vehicle and adjustment devices connected to the plate and vehicle for holding the support plate at an adjustable distance above the vehicle. It also has a holder, which in a more or less vertical position places the uprights on the ground. The transporter is propelled by a continuous track drive (7).
