PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of easily changing to a desired speed when an aging change is generated, without changing of an existing endoscopic system with a zoom mechanism. SOLUTION: This endoscope 2 comprises the zoom mechanism, and a first speed setting switch 31 to set action speed of the zoom mechanism, a magnified image observation controller 6 as an external device to drive the zoom mechanism of the endoscope 2, and a second speed setting switch 32 detachably provided on the endoscope 2 to set action speed of the zoom mechanism to a different speed from a speed set by the first speed setting switch 31.
