PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laboratory scale reactor more safer and flexible and for accurately simulating an industrial scale objective material in a catalytic reaction. SOLUTION: The laboratory scale reaction device has (a) a body made from a heat insulating material, (b) a reaction chamber formed inside the body of the heat insulating material, (c) a pressure holding vessel which is arranged in the vicinity of the body of the heat insulating material and has an inlet communicated with a reaction chamber and an outlet communicated with the reaction chamber, and (d) a rapid cooler connected to the outlet of the pressure holding vessel to be operable.
