PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive plant-growing base material which is light, has excellent shape-retainability and good water drainability, and can healthily raise the plant without causing the growth inhibition of the plant, to provide a nursery bed, and to provide a method for effectively producing the base material. SOLUTION: This plant-growing base material contains inorganic foams having a particle diameter of <=10 mm and a weight/unit volume of <=0.5 kg/ liter as a main material and further contains thermally fusing fibers. |
