PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light beam type safety apparatus with control function capable of setting a safety distances from a position arranging upper/lower dies, preparing a principal optical axis at the position, approaching a distance between the arranged positions of the upper/lower dies and a worker, and conducting efficient work concerning the light beam type safety apparatus for a press machine. SOLUTION: The apparatus uses a second optical axis B and a third optical axis C, a safety space for a hand/arm between the press machine and a safety region S is set, a first optical axis is arranged at a safety distance S from the most front end optical axis of the second optical axis B arranged immediately before risk or from the most front end optical axis of the third optical axis C. Further, the second optical axis B and the third optical axis C are arranged to a second fixed frame, the second fixed frame is constituted to be freely moved up/down for a first fixed frame, further, the first fixed frame is constituted to be freely moved back/forth for the press machine 10, the safety space and the safety distance S are easily set for a change in a risk region.
