PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable grinder with a simple and small balance mechanism structure, allowing easy synchronous adjustment of reciprocating motion of a table and a balance table. SOLUTION: In this grinder, a ground face 20a of a work 20 supported on the machining table 17 is ground by rotating a grinding wheel 16 and reciprocating the machining table 17 with the grinding wheel 16 contacted with the ground face 20a of the work 20. A side part of the machining table 17 is adjacently movably disposed with the balance table 21 supporting a dummy work 22. The machining table 17 and the balance table 21 are oppositely reciprocated in synchronization by linear motors 19, 24.
