ELEVATOR SILL GROOVE CLOSING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator sill groove closing device for closing a sill groove provided in the doorway of the elevator and guiding a guide shoe of a door. SOLUTION: The elevator sill groove closing device is provided with a closing band, i.e., a flexible band member closing a sill groove and made of metal; a tension device having a tension spring for tightening this closing band such that the closing band can be displaced to a closing position where an opening of the sill groove is always closed in the sill groove along the opening of the sill groove and an urged position where it is urged into the sill groove when it is partially clamped by a guide shoe; and an elastic device including a compression spring for elastically supporting the closing band to a closing position in the sill groove at a normal time and capable of partially displacing an only urged part to an urged position by a guide shoe.
