摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism and method for adjusting the printing pressure of a printing press, capable of adjusting printing pressure by keeping the feed speed of a printing base material and the peripheral speed of a plate cylinder same without using a gear. SOLUTION: The printing pressure adjusting mechanism of the printing press is equipped with an impression cylinder having taper parts provided to both ends thereof, a plate cylinder having taper parts provided to both ends thereof and at least one roller rotated around the axis right-angled to the rotary shafts of the impression cylinder and the plate cylinder so as to follow the rotation of those rotary shafts. The roller is arranged on either one of or both left and right sides of the impression cylinder and the plate cylinder and a means altering the position of the follower shaft thereof in a left and right direction is provided. By altering a position where the tapered circumferential part of the roller is pressed to the taper parts of the impression cylinder and the plate cylinder by altering the position of the follower shaft of the roller, the gap between the impression cylinder and the plate cylinder can be altered.
