Photochemotherapeutic agents and method for making same. Lipophilic and amphiphilic compounds which are amide de- rivatives of porphyrins displaying at least one of photosensitizing, radio- pharmaceutical and immunological activity and having water solubilizing groups attached thereto by bonds selected from amide bond s and peptide bonds, for selective accumulation in malignant tissue in a living body.
