PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishhook having the point capable of easily sticking in a fish by reducing the point angle of a pointed part without extremely reducing the strength of the point, and having good barb part formed thereon, and further to provide a method for producing the fishhook. SOLUTION: This fishhook has a shaft part 1, a taper part 3 extended from the point side thereof, a barb-forming part 4 formed at the point side of the taper part 3, and the sharply pointed part 5 formed at the point side of the barb-forming part 4. The taper part 3 has the outer diameter gradually reduced to the barb-forming part 4 at the point side, and joined to the barb-forming part 4. The barb-forming part 4 has a parallel shaft part 4a having a constant outer diameter, and the barb part 4b protruded in the outer direction of the diameter. The pointed part 5 has the outer diameter gradually reduced from the barb-forming pat 4 to the point to form the end 5a having the point.
