PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of facilitating a recovery operation for an ink ejection face, of eliminating enlargement thereof and facilitating adjustment, maintenance and management therefor in terms of the printer that executes the printing by ejecting ink drops from a plurality of nozzles. SOLUTION: This printer comprises a print head 3 which is mainly provided on a conveyance belt 18 and has the ink ejection face, a paper attracting device and a recovery operation device 51 for the ink ejection face. When executing the recovery operation, the print head 3 is moved upward and the recovery operation device 51 is inserted into a gap between the print head 13 and the conveyance belt 18 in a direction perpendicular to a paper conveyance direction of the conveyance belt. In this inserting condition, ink is ejected toward a cap section of the recovery operation device 51 from the ink ejection face to remove clogging in a nozzle and the recovery operation is completed and then the recovery operation device 51 is shunted in the side of the conveyance belt. |
