摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive transmitting mechanism for always rotating an output shaft in the specific direction regardless of the rotational direction of an input shaft as well as to shorten reading time of a document by adopting, for example, such a technology for a document carrying device of a double-sided image reader, using one driving source of the document carrying device in this case, rotating a separate roller for taking in the document in the specific direction regardless of reciprocal rotation of the driving source, and delivering the next document while discharging the preceding document by connecting and disconnecting the rotational motive power. SOLUTION: Two one-way clutches are arranged on the output shaft 22a. Both one-way clutches are engaged and disengaged in the same rotational direction. A same direction transmitting mechanism 51 for transmitting rotational driving force of the input shaft 53a to one one-way clutch still in the same rotational direction and a reverse rotation transmitting mechanism 52 for transmitting the rotational driving force of the input shaft 53a to the other one-way clutch by reversing the rotational direction, are arranged between the input shaft 53a and the output shaft 22a.
