PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method of a thick carpet high in safety, easy in handling, improving gas permeability by coating in the thickness not less than 0.5 mm, using a high polymer emulsion, capable of quickly performing drying and hardening even if a thick fabric web is stuck together, which are drawbacks of an aqueous system, and using practically an aqueous system emulsion composition in treatment of the back of carpet ground textiles. SOLUTION: The back of the carpet ground textiles (except for a tile carpet) is coated with an aqueous system emulsion composition by blending a polyisocyanate compound having a reactive isocyanate group with highly solid contents, a fabric web is stuck together, and is dried after heating and hardening, and the thick carpet can be obtained.
