PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly expand without deflection a bag body of a dust collecting filter of a vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: This dust collecting filter for the vacuum cleaner comprises the bag body 1 formed of a filter material having air permeability and a mount 2 disposed on the upper surface of the bag body 1. The mount 2 has an opening 3 as an air inlet into the bag body 1, both right and left side parts 4 and 4 of the bag body 1 are formed into a bellows shape so that the bag body 1 expands due to dust collection, the bellows like side parts 4 have at least three crest folding parts 5a, 5b, and 5c. The bottom crest folding part 5c more projects right and left of the bag body 1 than the top crest folding part 5a, and the intermediate crest folding part 5b positioned between the top crest folding part 5a and the bottom crest folding part 5c most projects right and left of the bag body 1, among the folding parts 5a, 5b, and 5c constituting the bellows. Thus, a part of the bag body 1 having the highest degree of deformation freedom is set as a part having the largest volume when the bag body 1 is expanded, thereby wholly expanding the bag body 1.
