PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the root-arranging device of a knotter, which can prevent the large sagging of the root ends of stem culms and can simultaneously well beat and arrange the root ends. SOLUTION: This root-arranging device of the knotter which is used for supporting, receiving and guiding the stem culms fed it the transverse posture on a stem culm guide member 5, knotting the stem culms in a knotting portion 4 and simultaneously beating and arranging the root ends of the stem culms on a root end-arranging plate 60, characterized by swingably disposing the root end-arranging plate 60 on the side of the root side of a collected stem portion guide surface 51 for supporting, receiving and guiding the stem culms and largely lapping the collected stem portion guide surface 51 and the lower side portion of the root-arranging plate 60 from the stem culm-feeding side to the knotted stem culm-discharging side to arrange the root ends.
