SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel polycyclic phthalazines, in part, to disubstituted maduraphthalazines 10,12,15,16-tetrahydroxy-8-methoxy-11-methyl-1,9,14-trioxo-1,2,6,7,9,14-hexahydronaphthaceno-[1,2-g]-phthalazines of the formula (I) where R1 means residue of the formula -(CR4R5)n-COY or -Ph(R6)-(COY) where R4 and R5 mean H; n means numbers 1-4; R6 means H; Y means OR7 where R7 means H or (C1-C10)-alkyl either ion of alkaline metal or ammonium ion R2 and R3 means hydrogen atom and invention relates to also salts, esters and amides of compounds of the formula (I). The proposed compounds are effective against strains of gram-positive microorganisms and first of all against multiresistant staphylococci and against microorganisms resistant to glycopeptides, for example, vancomycin and against enterococci and therefore they can be used for preparing medicinal agents eliciting an antibacterial effect. Invention proposes also a medicinal agent with antibacterial effect that contains compound of the formula (I) in common with physiologically acceptable accessory substances and carriers.
