PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a difference in pressure between a rotor chamber and a gear chamber cannot be ensured and oil in the gear chamber may leak into the rotor chamber, although an oil seal is arranged between the gear chamber and the rotor chamber to prevent oil leakage. SOLUTION: A screw compressor is provided with a first groove 36 and a second groove 37 for leading a part of air compressed under high pressure to the vicinity (around shaft) of a second oil seal 18 and a fourth oil seal 23 in the rotor chamber 10. It is provided on end faces of a pair of rotors 1, 2 directed toward the second and fourth oil seals 18, 23. Consequently, a pressure in the rotor chamber 10 is kept at a higher pressure than that in the gear chamber 9 when viewed from the second oil seal 18, thereby eliminating a defect that oil in the gear chamber 9 leaks into the rotor chamber 10 through the second oil seal 18. In the same way, a pressure in the rotor chamber 10 is kept at a higher pressure than that in the gear chamber 9 when viewed from the fourth oil seal 23, thereby eliminating a defect that oil in the gear chamber 9 leaks into the rotor chamber 10 through the fourth oil seal 23.
