PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device capable of improving the convenience of its operation by immediately stopping it with a simple forced-air-cooling fan. SOLUTION: A fan 2 is employed which can reverse the rotational direction of an impeller by reversing power voltage. At the time of driving the fan 2, positive/negative voltage is supplied to a power terminal C, and at the time of stopping the driving of the fan 2, a selector switch 5 is switched to cause a short-circuit between the power terminals C of the fan 2. As a result, to a motor rotating the fan 2, the braking force in the opposite direction to its rotation is given, thereby stopping the fan 2.
