DRUM BRAKE WITH SHOE GAP-AUTOMATIC ADJUSTMENT MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum brake with shoe gap-automatic adjustment mechanism in which assembly of a temperature sensitive deformation member for preventing an over-adjustment is easy. SOLUTION: A temperature sensitive deformation member 60 having a cylindrical shape with a bottom constituted by a bimetal is adopted and is rotatably arranged between a second strut member 42 and an adjuster wheel 44 in the state that an engagement shaft 50 is inserted into a through hole 64 provided on the bottom part of the cylindrical shape with a bottom. A plurality of slits are provided on a cylindrical part positioned at an outer periphery side of the second strut member 42. The temperature sensitive member 60 becomes a larger diameter than that of the adjuster wheel 44 by enlarging a diameter of a tip end at an opening side accompanying with a raising of temperature to engage with an adjust lever 52. The adjust lever 52 is engaged with the adjuster wheel 44 and it is forbidden that an automatic adjustment of the shoe gap is carried out.
