The present invention depicts a liquid crystal display device with a pair of substrates assemblies and an electrodes pattern which define the active and inactive areas of the display. The separator elements are disposed only in the inactive areas of the display keeping a uniform predetermined cellular space between the substrates assemblies for the liquid crystal material. Some of the separators are adhesive for providing shock resistance to the device.
