PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid, light-weight and easily manufactured vacuum holding vessel having an entire structure capable of completely withstanding atmospheric pressure for a long period. SOLUTION: The cover plate 22 and the base plate 24 of the vacuum holding vessel 12 are entirely horizontally extended. In the side parts of the vessel, an airtight property is maintained by metallic plates 30. Cover peripheral edges 36 and base peripheral edges 42 are supported by side walls 28.
