PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion valve for preventing the turn-down and falling of a valve element and a compression coil spring when assembled therein. SOLUTION: A protrusion 18 is formed on a portion of an adjusting screw 10 where it receives the compression coil spring 9 for preventing the turn-down of the compression coil spring 9. The protrusion 18 holds the compression coil spring 9 when the valve element 8 and the compression coil spring 9 are assembled in a body 2. Therefore, the drift of the compression coil spring 9 is prevented and a failure in assembling the compression coil spring 9 and the valve element 8 due to turn-down and falling is eliminated, to enhance productivity.
