PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an optical reading device such as a bar code reader or the like to be used in common as a stationary reading device and a hand-held reading device, and to realize reading by a scanning pattern suitable for each reading form. SOLUTION: A first scanning pattern and a second scanning pattern are emitted respectively from reading windows 13a and 13b, and a grip 12 is installed on a head part 11 to enable the reading device to be gripped. This reading device 1 can be set on a stand 2, therefore it can be used also as the stationary reading device. The first scanning pattern is fit for stationary reading and the second scanning pattern is fit for hand-held reading. |
