The combustion engine consists of a case (20), housing a crankshaft (10), mounted to rotate around a primary longitudinal axis (A1), and a balancing device (24), fixed to the linking face (26) of the case. The balance device consists of at least a balance shaft (30), mounted to rotate around a secondary longitudinal axis (A2). The balancing device is fitted such that the distance between the two axes can be adjusted by a translation of the balancing device, relative to the case and parallel to the linking face.
