TSUNAMI DAMAGE ESTIMATING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the estimation of a tsunami damage with optimum scale and contents according to the purpose of use. SOLUTION: This tsunami damage estimation system performs the estimation of damage on the basis of tsunami flooding model data 2 and digital map data 1. This system comprises an input means 3 for inputting conditions for the damage estimation including the purpose of use; a mesh size determination means 4 for determining the mesh size every purpose of use; a mesh model forming means 5 for forming a mesh model on the basis of the digital map data with the mesh size determined by the mesh size determination means; and a flooding damage estimation means 6 for estimating a flooding damage based on the tsunami flooding model data every mesh formed by the mesh model forming means. Accordingly, a necessary damage estimation can be efficiently performed according to the purpose of use without wasteful processing, and the flooding damage by a tsunami based on a plurality of earthquake magnitudes and positions can be estimated in a short time.
