PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white balance adjustment device that can output an image with high image quality whose white balance and luminance are corrected at a high-speed. SOLUTION: An image pickup device employing the white balance device of this invention is provided with a gain adjustment circuit 6 that adjusts at least 2-color gain for received color image data, an AWB(Automatic White Balance) evaluation value calculation circuit 12 that extracts color image data in a white extract area in the received color image data to calculate an AWB evaluation value, and a controller 13 that calculates at least a 2-color gain for the gain adjustment circuit 6 on the basis of the white balance evaluation value, corrects a luminance change with respect to at least the calculated 2-color gain to calculate the corrected gain and sets at least the 2-color correction gain to the gain adjustment circuit 6.
