PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detector which does not consume power for detection, when current is not flowing. SOLUTION: The current detector is composed of a current transformer 1, whose primary side is connected to a power line 2 to which a load is connected, a current relay circuit 4 which is connected to the secondary side of the current transformer 1 and operates when the secondary current of the current transformer 1 exceeds a preset value, and a current monitor circuit 8, to which power is supplied to perform its operation, when the relay circuit 4 operates.
