PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic commodity receiving system and a commodity receiving method capable of receiving a commodity based on judgement for whether the delivered commodity is the commodity having been ordered or not and executing settlement instructing of the commodity price without waiting for confirmation of the commodity by a user even when the user is absent. SOLUTION: An exclusive post reads out a code 11a attached on the delivered commodity 11 after detecting insertion of the delivered commodity 11 and transmits the code 11a to a computer 3. The computer judges whether the delivered commodity 11 is the commodity ordered through the computer 3 or not on the basis of the code 11a.
