PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin-sealed structure for optical element that satisfies all necessary conditions of high reliability, optical path security, high mass- productivity, and a low wiring capacity. SOLUTION: This resin-sealed structure is provided with a substrate having an optical waveguide structure, an optical element mounted on the substrate by keeping a prescribed gap between the element and one end of the waveguide structure so that the element may be coupled optically with the end, and a wire one end of which is connected to the electrode of the optical element and the other end of which is connected to wiring formed on the substrate. The resin-sealed structure is also provided with a transparent first resin applied to the side face of the optical element so as to contain the gap and a second resin covering the optical element, first resin, and wire. |
