PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a designing system and a designing method for a unit type building by which time from the start of designing to the completion of structural calculation is shortened. SOLUTION: When the unit type building composed of a combination of plural building units equipped with three-dimensional frames is designed and the structural calculation is done therefor, a recognition part 15B provided in a computer 4 as a designing means recognizes that data on an array of the building units, an entrance, an open ceiling, a balcony, and a roof are inputted and a computer 3 as a structural calculation means is trigged by the recognition of the input of these data to start the structural calculation. Consequently, the structural calculation is started even when the design work is not completed, and design work processing and structural calculation processing are both performed partially in parallel to shorten the time from the start of the designing to the completion of the structural calculation.
