PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided, which improves an image quality by making address discharge characteristics uniform in each sub field for time-division gray level display. CONSTITUTION: A unit frame is divided into eight sub fields(SF1,...,SF8) to realize a time division gray level display. And each sub field is divided into address periods(A1,...,A8) and sustain discharge periods(S1,...,S8). During each address period, a display data signal is applied to address electrode liens and at the same time corresponding scan pulses are applied to each Y electrode line in sequence. Therefore, if a display data signal of high level is applied while the scan pulse is applied, wall charges are formed in a corresponding discharge cell by an address discharge, and wall charges are not formed in other discharge cells. |
