PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily specify the measuring part of an object, to be measured, in a noncontact outer-shape measuring apparatus of a system using a telecentric optical system. SOLUTION: The noncontact outer-shape measuring apparatus is provided with a collimator lens 13 which changes light from a light source into nearly parallel light, a light-receiving lens 14 which receives the nearly parallel light inclusive of the shade of the object 23 to be measured, placed so as to block a part of the nearly parallel light, a diaphragm 15 which is arranged in the focal position on the rear side of the light receiving lens 14, a one-dimensional image sensor 17 which receives the light passing through the diaphragm 15, a signal processing part 20 which finds the outside dimension of the object 23, to be measured, by processing an electrical signal obtained by the image sensor 17 and a display part 21 which displays the found outside dimension. The light which is divided by a beam splitter 16, which is arranged between the light receiving lens 14 and the diaphragm 15 is received by a two-dimensional image sensor 19 through a second diaphragm 18. By the signal processing part 20, a monitor image inclusive of the measuring part of the object, to be measured, obtained by the image sensor 19 is displayed on the display part 21.
