PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bay window unit, which has a separate roof and is constructed through simplified work in the construction field, and to provide a method for constructing the bay window unit. SOLUTION: The roof of the bay window is constructed, such that an eaves edge of a bay window roof component forming the bay window roof engages with a receiving member arranged on the front surface of a bay window body, and that a side surface of the bay window body abuts on the bay window roof component. Thus, the construction of the bay window roof is facilitated. With respect to mounting work of an soffit drip cap on a bay window soffit, the soffit drip cap is mounted via a mounting member which is arranged between the bay window body and the soffit drip cap, and therefore it is easily mounted on an accurate location.
