PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and rigid fixing structure suitable for use in fixing together vertical members, such as columns, girders, posts, etc., and horizontal members such as a sill and beams, of a wooden building, and a fixture for use therewith. SOLUTION: The fixing structure is for connecting and fixing together the vertical members such as columns and the horizontal members of a wooden building. Slits are formed in the ends of the vertical members and in the horizontal members and the fixture made of a metallic plate having a thickness that fits into the slits has two of its sides fitted into the slits in the vertical members and the horizontal members; the vertical members and the horizontal members are fixed to the fixture by fasteners such as pins and bolts. The fixture is made of a metallic plate which is a few millimeters thick; two sides of the plate forming at least one corner are approximately perpendicular to each other. Fastener holes are bored in positions each of which is a predetermined distance away from each of the two approximately perpendicular sides.
