OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase change type optical recording medium dispensing with an initializing operation after forming a recording layer and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a first dielectric layer, a recording layer, a second dielectric layer and a reflection radiating layer. The recording layer consists of a phase change material wherein change between a crystal state and an amorphous state is generated and phase change is generation in a recording film by irradiating the recording layer with a light beam to record an information signal. The recording layer is specified to be a crystalline in a film-deposited state by CVD or MOCVD.
