PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance ferrite magnet, which has higher coercive force iHc (or a higher coercive force iHc and a higher residual magnetic flux density Br) than the conventional ferrite magnet has and a substantial magnetoplumbite type crystal structure having a high aspect ratio. SOLUTION: This ferrite magnet has a basic composition expressed by the general formula of (A1-xRx)O.n[(Fe1-yMy)2O3] (atomic ratio) (wherein, A, R, and M respectively denote Sr and/or Ba, at least one kind of rare-earth element including Y, and at least one kind of element selected from among a group composed of Co, Mn, Ni, and Zn and (x), (y), and (n) respectively satisf the relations of 0.01<=x<=0.4, 0.005<=y<=0.04, and 5<=n<=6) and the magnetoplumbite type crystal structure. In the magnet, in addition, the concentrations of the R and/or M elements in the boundaries of magnetoplumbite crystal grains are higher than those of the elements in the crystal grains. |
