PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital system for monitoring a power range in a nuclear reactor, which performs processing in a loop of a safety system, simplifies a maintenance diagnosis processing system of local power range monitor(LPRM) detectors and improves reliability and safety in maintenance diagnosis functions of the LPRM detector. SOLUTION: The digital system 21 for monitoring a power range in a reactor measures the average power and local power of a reactor from the neutron flux, measured by each of the LPRM detectors in the reactor core and sounds an alarm under abnormal conditions. The digital system 21 for monitoring a power range has in-core nuclear instrumentation assemblies located in the core of the reactor and outputs sensor information from a gamma thermometer. An APRM 34 has a comparison determination difference processing system 47, which compares the sensor information from a thermo gamma system 41 with the signal information from the LPRM detectors 30, to find a difference value and a detector degradation diagnosis processing system 46, which monitors the difference value to determine the degradation in the sensitivity of the LPRM detectors 30.
