PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a portable CD player which is small, light and thin and is little affected by vibrations and impact. SOLUTION: In this portable CD player provided with a housing body part 1, a housing cover part 2 and a mechanical deck part 3 where a driving part on which a CD(compact disk) is mounted and which rotationally drives the CD, and an optical pick-up part 4 for emitting a laser beam at the CD, for detecting reflected light and reading data are mounted, and the mechanical deck part 3 is supported rigidly by the housing body part 1.
