PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that can easily release demonstration mode and prevent mis-shots in the demonstration mode. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is provided with an electronic imaging means 12 that photographs an object by converting an image of the object into an electrical signal, a means 21 that loads a removable recording medium, in which the photographed image is stored and recorded to the electronic camera, a specific mode setting means 50 that sets a specific operating mode which is different from a usual operating mode to the electronic camera, and a release means 50 that releases the specific operating mode through the operation regarding the loading of the recording medium.
