PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-operated accordion style partition device which can be always easily opened or closed by the hand, regardless of whether its power is on or off. SOLUTION: Upper linking pieces 21 and an upper threaded portion 29 are engaged with respective upper linking pieces 21, provided by protruding them to the central upper portion in a breadthwise direction of each folded piece 19 of a sheet member 16 for permitting expansion and shrinkage in the lateral direction formed by bending to a zigzag cross section further, a part of the ridge 30 of an upper male threaded portion 29 is equipped with both an upper feed shaft 32 having a practically parallel notched portion 31, relative to the shaft center of the upper male threaded portion 29; and also an upper turning drive means 35, which is able to rotate and drive an upper feed shaft 32 in the normal or the reverse direction.
