PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jacket with an elastic tape, comfortably wearable, capable of maintaining its appearance and taking away such a stereotype about a jacket as to be tight and uncomfortable to wear. SOLUTION: This jacket with an elastic tape, e.g. a men's suit 100 with an elastic tape, is made through the following process: making pattern layout of a face side fabric and a lining fabric 7 after taking account of ease of the lining fabric 7 from the point U to a side seam position 2 so as to make the fabric have enough ease in order to cope with the elasticity of the fabric causing the deformation of the garment fabric such as creases or warps resulting from sewing up an elastic tape 4, sewing up the elastic tape 4 from the side seam position 2 through the side seam position 2 after setting the face fabric and the lining fabric 7 so as to keep enough distance between a run stitch thread for sewing up an armhole, and the edge part of the jacket fabric.
