PROCESS FOR PREPARING PHOSPHATE ESTER COMPOUNDS

PURPOSE: A process for preparing phosphate ester compounds is provided, thereby cheaply preparing high purity phosphate ester compounds in higher yield. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing tri-cresyl phosphate(TCP) comprises the steps of: reacting POCl3 with mixed cresol in the presence of AlCl3 or a halogenating catalyst to prepare a reaction product containing tri-cresyl phosphate(TCP); adding 15 to 40 vol.% of a 2 to 6% NaOH solution into the reaction product containing TCP, and stirring the mixture thereof at 25 to 70 deg. C and 15 to 30 rpm for 1 to 4 hours(ST1) to remove impurities; distilling the mixture under vacuum conditions of the pressure of 5 mmHg and the temperature of 240 deg. C or less(ST2); adding 15 to 40 vol.% of the 2 to 6% NaOH solution into the distilled mixture and stirring the mixture thereof at 25 to 70 deg. C and 15 to 30 rpm for 1 to 4 hours to remove impurities; and distilling the mixture under vacuum conditions of the pressure of 5 mmHg and the temperature of 240 deg. C or less.
