PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary battery charging device which can protect an auxiliary battery from deteriorating, when it is charged and facilitates the attachment of the auxiliary battery. SOLUTION: This auxiliary battery charging device 20 controls charging of an auxiliary battery in a charging system, which can charge a main battery and an auxiliary battery by a generator. The auxiliary battery charging device 20 has a 1st switching means 34, which turns on/off the charge current applied to the auxiliary battery by the generator, a current detection means 40 for detecting the value of the charging current, and a limiting means 42 which controls the 1st switching means 34 according to the result of the current detection means, to limit charge current not larger than a prescribed value.
